Some schools around the world have decided to start classes later in the morning. In the past, most high schools began at eight o’clock or earlier. Now, a number of schools begin at nine or later instead.

Because of this, many students did not get enough rest before early classes. Schools that changed their schedules reported that students became more awake during lessons, and fewer students arrived late.
Parents, however, do not all agree with the new schedules. Many of them leave for work before nine, so they cannot drive their children to school anymore. In addition, when classes end later, students have less time for club activities and part-time jobs in the evening. Some families say that dinner and study time at home have become harder to plan.
